Who this is from

This privacy policy covers Chim-Tex Construction (Chim-Tex), a Texas-based fireplace and full-trade construction company headquartered at 14300 Northwest Fwy, Suite A-21, Houston, TX 77040. Owner and operator: Lou. Reachable at [email protected] or 832-242-8155.

What we collect from this website

We collect only what you give us. When you submit the contact form we receive the name, phone number, email address, project type, and message text you enter. That data is transmitted to Lou's email inbox and is not stored on our website.

We may operate cookieless web analytics that record aggregate, anonymized visit data (pages viewed, country of origin, referring source). No personal identifiers are collected by the analytics. No cookies are set. No user is individually identifiable.

What we collect in the normal course of business

When you become a customer we collect the information necessary to perform the work: your project address, billing address, payment information (processed through a third-party payment processor, not stored by us), and any project-related correspondence. Customer information is retained for the duration of the project plus a reasonable period afterward for warranty, tax, and legal purposes.

How we use the information

  • To respond to your inquiry and provide a quote.
  • To schedule and perform the work you commission.
  • To send invoices and process payments.
  • To honor the warranty on completed work.
  • To comply with tax, permit, and other legal obligations.
  • To improve the website experience based on aggregate analytics.

Who we share with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Period.

We share customer information only with vendors strictly necessary to do the work: the email-delivery service that forwards your contact-form submission to our inbox, the payment processor when you pay an invoice, permit authorities when your project requires inspection, and our accountant for tax compliance. Each of those vendors operates under their own privacy policy and is contractually limited to using the data for the agreed purpose.

How we protect the information

The website is served over HTTPS. The contact-form submission is transmitted over TLS to our email-delivery vendor and then to Lou's inbox. Customer project data lives in encrypted email and on our local business systems with reasonable physical and digital security in place. We make no claim of being immune to all possible attacks; we make the claim of taking reasonable care.

Your rights

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, or request deletion of your information (subject to our legal obligation to retain certain records for tax and warranty purposes). Contact us at [email protected] with the request.

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Texas residents will have additional rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act when it takes effect. We honor those rights for residents of any state when they apply.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy as practices change or as the law requires. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted prominently on this page for a reasonable period after the change takes effect.
